About Me.
Hi! I'm Laura.
I’m a writing scholar with a PhD in English Rhetoric and Composition, and I’ve taught undergraduate and graduate writing since 2005. I have also worked as a writing consultant and assistant director in Writing Centers at large R1 universities, where I supported scholars across disciplines with developmental editing for dissertations and research articles.
Beyond academia, I’ve completed many editing projects for educational and nonprofit organizations. I also publish in my field and serve as a blind peer reviewer, which keeps me closely attuned to the conventions, expectations, and small-but-crucial nuances of academic writing and publication.
What that means for you
-
I understand how ideas move from draft to submission—and what reviewers look for.
-
I can help shape the big picture (structure and argument) and refine at the sentence level.
-
My goal is to preserve your voice while making your work clearer, more cohesive, and publication-ready.
